Affected item: Jabadabado veterinary belt
Article number: W7219
Jabadabado is recalling the product veterinary belt with article number W7219.
The product has been age tested and safety tested by independent reputable testing house from the age of 3+, meets all safety standards for that age and all markings are correct and present on all packaging / information about the product. Even noting all of the above, the Swedish consumer agency have reviewed this item, and believes it has an appeal for children of 18m meaning there is a a risk of strangulation as the ends of the cords in the included stethoscope can be twisted together and form a loop.
In the UK we are awaiting a response from UK trading standards/Department of product safety for UK specific guidance given the confusing nature of the issue, however we have to respect the view of the Swedish agency and support all of our customers will a recall.
The veterinary belt has been sold through retailers between September 2022 and
May 2023 with no incidents in any country however Jabadabado urges all customers and consumers who bought the product to stop using it and return it to the place of purchase.
We advise all trade accounts, if possible to contact your customers directly / display a note in the store window and advise of their rights for return. Please contact us for any/full help.
We ask those who have bought the product as a gift to inform the parents concerned.
